The Chemistry of Water

Think of a handful of marbles versus a bucket of golf balls. If you throw the golf balls at a chain-link fence, some will pass through, yet, we know some will bounce back. To better understand this necessary component to life, we must understand its chemical properties and how it works in our bodies. Water has a simple molecular structure. It is composed of one oxygen atom and two hydrogen atoms. Each hydrogen atom is covalently bonded to the oxygen via a shared pair of electrons. What you may not know is that water comes in clusters of molecules (rather than single molecule). Non-structured water contains very large clusters groups, ranging in formation from 13 molecules, and up to 25 in some cases.
